Matthew 10:28-32 "Do not fear those who kill the body but are unable to kill the soul; but rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell. Are not two sparrows sold for a cent? And yet not one of them will fall to the ground apart from your Father. But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. So do not fear; you are more valuable than many sparrows. Therefore everyone who confesses Me before men, I will also confess him before My Father who is in heaven."
In the above passage of Scripture we have a command for the believer in Christ to not be afraid of persecutors who deliberately are destroying those who are born again Christians. We only need to look at the headlines that help us understand what is going on in the world, our global village. ISIS not only kills Christians. it brings them special pleasure to do so. The Boko Haram also are killers of godly people. And there are many countries who kill or imprison Christians.
The natural human response to murder or martyrdom is fear. Our Lord Jesus commands us to not fear death. Why does He do so? Because one of the most powerful beings on earth,Satan cannot take your soul from you. At the moment of death you are escorted by angels to Heaven. The Lord Jesus said in (John 8:44c) to those who wished to kill Him "You are of your father the devil and you want to do the desires of your father. He was a murderer from the beginning and does not stand in the truth because there is no truth in him."
I hope this blog is a comfort to you as you are being persecuted. We in the United States are praying for you and so are believers in other nations. This blog is read in many different countries.
I leave you with this Scripture;1 John 5: 18; "We know that no one who is born of God sins; but He who was born of God keeps him, and the evil one does not touch him." The Greek word for touch in this passage means to fasten oneself to another. Fear not, "Jesus Christ, the lion from the tribe of Judah has prevailed over the devil and the death that he brought into the world.
